Designed and built as a grand tourer the SL was first introduced in 1954. The designation SL derives from the German Sport Lightweight and was first applied to the 300SL Gullwing.
The SL model range is still in production today and has spanned five generations of models from 1954 to the present day.
The Mercedes-Benz R129 SL roadsters were produced from 1989 to 2002. The R129 replaced the R107 in 1989 and was in its turn replaced by the R230 SL-Class in 2002 for the 2003 model year. Featuring a shorter wheelbase and updated rear suspension over it predecessor the R107 (third generation SL) the R129 was quick to introduce model updates and featured a large amount of styling, mechanical and technological updates over its 12 year life span.
The R129 was produced as a two-door roadster with an automated (electro-hydraulic) textile tonneau cover. All R129s came standard with an detachable hardtop that could fitted by folding the canvas roof down and manually attaching it. The R129 model was also the first convertible/roadster to offer the automatic rollbar deployment in event of rollover. The motorist can also manually raise and lower the rollbar should he choose to. This facilitates the clean look of R129 without compromising the occupant’s safety.

Lights are clear; crack and moisture free, whilst pillar trims and grille show remarkably well.
The first thing you notice when you enter the cabin is the high-quality materials and first class workmanship used when designing this SL320. The cabin presents virtually as new with very few signs of use, so much so that the cellophane sleeve still remains on the passenger’s seat belt! The contrasting black leather interior is in immaculate condition with no wear to the bolsters whatsoever.
It is evident that this SL320 had benefitted from meticulous care with the sills, carpets and gearbox tunnel all mark free.
